I own no fewer than 50 sweater dresses (despite my best attempt at streamlining) but the Drop Renata Rib Midi Dress (reviewed here) has consistently been one of my most-worn pieces since it was added to my wardrobe in 2022. While the mediocre acrylic blend doesn’t wash well in the machine, it feels super soft and keeps me warm (enough) in the twilight hours. This effortless basic is also the perfect blank canvas on which to add colors and prints. I especially like the easy (i.e., relaxed but not oversized) fit so have tried dozens of “more premium” options with a similar silhouette in the last two years, but haven’t managed to find one in the same weight and with the right fit. So I bought the Renata Midi Dress in a second colorway last fall and plan to get a third this year.
