The landscape is currently frozen solid, but before this latest cold spell, I had been living in a long padded vest that I picked up from Zara last year. It became an immediate favorite, as the padding keeps me warm (in relatively cold conditions) while freeing my arms to spin windmill style (if I choose to). If you don’t already own one, I highly recommend getting a longer vest for early spring (which can’t come soon enough).

About the shoes: I really like them–they are pull-on (the uppers are mostly knit) so I don’t have to wrestle with laces, and aside from a tiny bit of bunching around the ankles when I sit down they fit me really well with Smartwool socks. I am actually partnering with Dream Pairs on a review post, and this is my favorite pair of the six or so styles that I tried. The quality is very reasonable for ~$70 knee-high boots. I would recommend them for those who can wear medium width shoes.
