In my review of the J. Crew Giselle Sweater-Blazer, I had complained about its awkward length and the floppy fabric. I found so little use for this sweater-blazer that It ended up in the donation pile over the summer.
But I must not have been the only one with similar complaints because J.Crew released an updated version of the Giselle sweater-blazer this season that solved both problems. While the Long Giselle Sweater Blazer is not without flaws, its versatility and ease of wear outweigh any minor fit issues I had. It’s even found a permanent place in my travel wardrobe.
The 100% cotton fabric has a soft feel and is comfortable to wear but has enough weight to hold the structure. The gold crest buttons and longer length help elevate this basic cardigan in moodier colorways.
The fit is large to size, so I’d suggest sizing down unless you are on the taller end of the height spectrum. It’s long enough on petites to wear as a dress (though I wear bike shorts underneath to avoid flashing people) and can be easily dressed down when paired with jeans or leggings.
