For about a year, Banana Republic has been following the playbook of Coach and more premium labels by weaning its customers off steep discounts. It remains to be seen if this discounting (or lack thereof) strategy will survive the upcoming retail season that’s forecasted to be unfriendly to retailers, but I am finding its occasional (~once every two months) 40% off sale a good (enough) time to place orders.
