As much as I enjoy the drama of costume jewelry, for everyday I opt for the gold chains of Aurate–they are light enough to stack (for added versatility) but make enough of a statement that my neckline never feels boring. The designs all have a classic quality to them which make them feel like forever pieces. And despite their friendly price points, the quality and design rival those of designer jewelry brands.
I especially like the pieces that incorporate a pearl ornament–they add a focal point that is feminine but not so ornate as to be overwhelming. And they are friendly even to beginner gold wearers, and elevate any outfit that you pair them with.
The only danger in getting a gold necklace from Aurate is that you can’t stop at just one: soon your desire to add another to your growing collection will lead you back to their online store, where you’ll easily find another classic option just different enough from something you already own that you won’t feel even a tiny bit of remorse for the purchase.

My favorite way to wear Aurate pieces is with similarly delicate materials: think impossibly soft cashmere sweaters, and silk dresses with square or sweetheart lines that are so drapey that the material flows as if it were weightless.
But these versatile necklaces should not be reserved for special occasions or more formal settings: they can easily dress up a simple t-shirt and jeans look, and be the finishing touch to pull a look together. With these more humble outfits, I usually choose relatively dazzling pieces, like a lariat style chain or something with a more prominent pendant.
One new way that I have been wearing my Aurate pieces is to wear them over a silk scarf or a smaller cashmere shawl; you might think the layering effect would diminish these delicate gold necklaces, but gold’s natural sparkle helps them stand out.
