I’ve been actively shoe-shopping for upcoming trips, as my go-to travel shoes are falling apart, and there are few things worse on a sightseeing trip than achy, destroyed feet after a full day of walking in uncomfortable shoes.
OluKai, one of my favorite warm-weather shoe brands, sent me a few of their new arrivals to try out. In this post I share three of my favorite designs from their spring collection.

OluKai Hā‘upu Leather Sneakers
The Hā‘upu comes in two colorways: the white and gold combo (so versatile!) that you see on me here, and a black and silver option. These sleek white sneakers with gold accents, which add polish and visual interest, go with everything: wear them with cropped trousers, floral dresses, or linen shorts. For added versatility, the heel counter can be folded down on days when you need an easy-on, easy-off option.
The contoured footbeds make them comfortable right out of the box, and they seem to only get comfier with time. The fit is very slightly large to size, with rounded toeboxes that are kind to my wider feet. But if you have narrower feet you may need to size down.

OluKai Mi‘i Leather Mule Shoes
The Mi‘i is a dressed-up slip-on; this wear-everywhere shoe’s combination of sleekness and ease of wear is unmatched. The classic mule silhouette is elevated by the woven full-grain leather detail. Because of the open back design, however, it’s not great for long treks, even though the footbed is well cushioned.
The fit is mostly true to size, but the length is on the short side relative to the width. So upsize if you have wide feet.

OluKai Kīlea Sneakers
If all you know about the Kīlea is its textural contrast (mesh, suede, and ripstop), you might imagine a shoe that’s kind of busy looking. But OluKai managed to design something that is both texturally interesting and easy to style. The off-white and tan color palette adds dimensionality while also disguising daily wear and tear. And the material feels sufficiently breathable as is, but the heel is collapsible so you can wear them like slides on hot and humid days.
I find these shoes, with lightweight no-show socks on, to fit well in my normal size. I liked them so much that I ordered a second colorway (under the guise of gifting them to my mom for Mother’s Day).
