Cooling weather need not spell the end of floral dresses. In fact, floral should be better recognized for their versatility and for the romance they bring to the season, as they can be one of the best (and easiest) fall transitional pieces: On cooler days, instantly autumnize your look by throwing a chunky sweater, an oversized cardigan, or a grandpa sweater vest over your floral dress. And complete the look by swapping raffia bags and white sneakers for accessories in a darker hue.

REFORMATION EDITA KNIT DRESS

Reformation’s Rou Dress is a closet staple for me and one that I consider essential to my travel wardrobe as it packs easily, is wrinkle-resistant, and hand washes beautifully. The only major fit issue that I have had to contend with is the tank strap length, which is too long on my shorter frame. If you have a shorter torso or are petite, the Edita Knit Dress is a great alternative: it shares the Rou Dress’s easy fit-and-flare silhouette and classic square neckline, but the tank straps are adjustable so you can tie them however you like.

The midweight lyocell-spandex blend (previously 90% TENCEL/10% spandex, now 88% TENCEL/12% spandex) has some amount of give, but provides enough structure to drape and flow well.

While Reformation generally runs slightly small to size, in this style I would only suggest sizing up if you are buxom, as the knit material has give. When laid flat, in size XS the dress measures 12″ across the waist, and 36.75″ in overall length (the bodice, sans straps, measures roughly 8″).

The Edita Dress is available in sizes XS-XL.
