While gingham is technically a fabric, mini checked patterns have become so synonymous with the term that a semantic change resulted. I call most mini checked patterns gingham, and feel justified in doing so.
And few things scream SUMMER louder than gingham. Now that the forecast for the foreseeable future is for temperatures in the summery 70s, my fleet of gingham dresses hang front and center in the closet.
But gingham is so much more than dresses. I’m eyeing gingham long shorts, gingham cropped cardigans, gingham accessories; it’s gingham galore in my shopping carts.
