The shoe that’s getting me through spring’s muddy patch is Madewell’s The Citywalk Lugsole Lace-Up Boot in Leather. For stiffly constructed shoes that draw heavily from combat boots, they feel light on the feet, and are fairly comfortable (once broken in, which only took a few hours for me). While the Citywalk Lace-Up Boot is not waterproof (so stay away from puddles), the leather upper is fairly easy to maintain, though are not impervious to scratches or creases.
Some great details: the functional back zipper which allows easy-on-and-off; the contrasting welt stitching (A+ for visual interest); the durable lugsole; and the MWL Cloudlift Lite padding.
And in terms of fit, I thought these shoes fit true to size with boot socks, or go down half a size if you have narrow feet.

I look forward to pairing these versatile boots with my many floral midi dresses later this spring.
