
The half-zip sweater is one of my favorite knit trends this season. Part sporty and part preppy, this sweater can take you effortlessly from morning strolls to work Zoom calls. And the J. Crew cable-knit half-zip sweater seen here is a reasonably affordable mid-weight option that I like quite a bit, and is now 30% off online (with code FESTIVE). The wool blend (which has a touch of alpaca, and some elastane and nylon), or what J. Crew calls “supersoft yarn,” is quite soft, but is hand wash only. Some other items of note: the relaxed fit borders on oversized, so size down if you want a closer fit; the style is only available in one size type, so is hip-length on a shorter figure; and there are some minor (though still annoying) quality issues, like loose threads at the zipper (which you can cut off, but is nevertheless disappointing to find in a $138 piece).
