Are shackets still trendy? I couldn’t tell you. But I am still wearing them. And as the weather cools, I am trading in hip-length shackets for longer ones, which I feel are a little more versatile than their shorter counterparts. They pair easily with a leather pant or a pair of denim, but will also work with mini skirts and patterned tights.
The A&F option pictured here is a recent addition to my growing collection of shirt jackets; my favorite of the four available colorways is “green plaid,” which is the right amount of festive, and pulls together a monochromatic look effortlessly. The sizing is a little tricky though–do size down (one or two sizes, depending on the number of layers that’s appropriate for your local weather), unless you plan to wear extremely oversized sweatshirts with this shacket.
The 100% polyester shell (and lining) is medium weight and soft; but I am pretty sure it won’t wash well, so have only been spot treating high-contact areas, and haven’t tried to wash the whole piece.
