A classic gold necklace is one of my favorite ways to jazz up a casual look. Everyday jewelry like the necklace pictured here pairs well with both slinky little black dresses and rugged utility jumpsuits. For this outfit, the necklace is also a unifying element through coordinating with the gold hardware on my bag and sunglasses. And if your outfit requires more visual interest, you can easily stack similar necklaces in different lengths to add depth and dimension to the neckline.
And the (super) affordable houndstooth sweater vest (more options here) pictured above is a new wardrobe workhorse. The quality is more than fair for the price point (<$30!), and the style comes in 13 colorways that’s a mix of classic and fun. While the material, a midweight polyester blend, is nothing to write home about, it is weighty enough to maintain the vest’s shape. In terms of sizing, I went up two sizes for a more relaxed fit so I can layer the vest over even the heaviest shirts and shirtdresses. As temperatures drop further, you can also winterize this sweater vest by layering a long-sleeve turtleneck sweater below and topping with a cozy oversized teddy coat.
