
I recently suffered one of the more serious injuries of my life: I stubbed my big toe, which, as it turns out, can be quite painful and persistent. I am on the mend, but one inconvenience is that I’ve had to temporarily renounce strappy open-toe shoes.
What I have been wearing a lot of as a result are mules and slide sandals, because they slide on so easily, which is a blessing when you are trying to avoid agitating sensitive digits.
