Has the recent discourse on skinny jeans (specifically, that only the Olds wear them) turned you off this enduring denim style?
In the last few months, I’ve tried several denim trends, from high-waist, slim boot-cut jeans (I am really struggling to warm up to this style) to skater/baggy jeans (which look a little sloppy on my body type). I’ve also pulled, from the depth of my closet, several pairs of boyfriend jeans, which I last worn with any enthusiasm in 2013. I find myself gravitating toward lighter washes and (slightly loose) straight-leg jeans this spring, but have not had luck finding a fit that I feel very comfortable in.
In the meantime, I have been experimenting with the “mom (fit) jean,” which sits at natural waist like the “original” mom jean, but the latest crop is updated with slimmer pantlegs and is sometimes distressed. They can be worn both cuffed or purchased in a shorter inseam to fall just above the ankle.

What’s your pick for the skinny jean’s replacement?
