
I resumed running outdoors earlier this month, and was (quickly) reminded why I had invested so heavily in activewear. If I hit the road in oversized sweats and a low ponytail, I frequently get stopped by well-meaning motorists who mistaken me for a child (especially now that I am masked up) and want to offer me a ride. This is a problem–insofar as an awkward conversation ensues in which I have to explain that I am actually just running and have to decline their offer–that I never have to contend with when I am wearing snazzy athleticwear.
One activewear brand that I “discovered” last year is Alo. Sure, their prices are a little inflated, but no more so than, say, lululemon. Importantly, many of their leggings have a 27″ inseam, which is the perfect length for stumpy 5’2 me.
