March Favorites

March feels like a lifetime ago, but I only recently got around to reflecting on my favorites from then. Here they are:

—————— Dainty Necklaces ——————

I rarely changed out of sweats and flannels in March because I didn’t really go anywhere. However, as I was still meeting virtually with people in a professional setting, and didn’t want them to know just how far I’ve let myself go, I often accessorized with dainty gold necklaces (the Aurate necklace pictured above is my go-to) before I got on these calls.

—————— Slouch Joggers ——————

Are these Free People slouch joggers the most form-accentuating? No, but they are some of the comfiest bottoms that I own. While I was initially put off by their extreme slouchiness (I’d still suggest sizing down if you can), I was quickly won over by their incredible comfort. My favorite thing about these joggers is the (barely) cinched ankles, which don’t constrict ankles at all but taper just enough to prevent the hem from dragging on the ground.

—————— The Lucia Bra/Slip ——————

Pretty underpinnings are a pre-corona artifact that I’ve clung to in my new reality. My favorite (bar none) is TLBC’s Lucia Bra, which I own in several colorways. The TLBC team was even kind enough to send me the Lucia Slip, which I have been wearing to sleep most nights.

—————— Duffle Coat ——————

I own and prize tailored coats that make me feel instantly put together, but the reality of my outerwear situation is that I actually wear my oversized duffel coats (with similarly oversized hoods) most, because they are easy to don over sweatshirts and the thickest winter layers. Some of my favorites come from Uniqlo, which on sale (~$60) make them some of the most affordable options at their quality level (which is fair, but the wool blend pills wildly over time).

The Uniqlo x Ines de la Fressange Wool-Blend Duffle Coat pictured above is past season, but you can still find them on eBay.

—————— Spiral Hair Ties ——————

My hair texture and volume changed (somewhat inexplicably) in the last year or so, making my hair more difficult to pull into a bun or ponytail with just a Scünci hair elastic. Spiral hair ties, however, are a game changer; they are a gentler alternative to hair ties, but somehow manage to capture and grip every strand of fine hair (also magically leaves no crease!) I got mine from J. Crew and find that they are perfect for high ponytails, which is how I wear my hair most days now.
