January Favorites

One suggestion that I received last month is to share my most-used/favorite products on a monthly basis, as my “year in review” favorites are generally long sold-out by year end. So, without further ado, here are some items that I found a lot of use for in January and which are still available online (though sizes have become limited in some styles):

—————— AU-Rate Pearl Bracelet & Ring ——————

I recently got the matching bracelet to one of my favorite rings, the AU-Rate Simple Pearl Ring (more gorgeous gold rings here), which you can see on me here, and have been wearing the set nearly every day. They add polish to every outfit.

—————— Hobes the Wooly Hobe ——————

The Wooly Hobe is the coziest option for cold but dry days, and perfectly encapsulates hygge. I sometimes bring them to the office when I have to work late and they have effectively become my office slippers. They make long workdays more tolerable.

—————— J.Crew Balloon Sleeve Cable Knit Cardigan ——————

I am trying really hard to rein in purchases in multiples, but wonder if I’ll regret not getting this cardigan in another color (both the “Vintage Blush” and “Warm Forest” appeal to me). The balloon sleeves have just the right amount of volume (i.e., adds visual interest, but isn’t clownish), and the material (55% wool/45% polyamide; I personally didn’t find it itchy) is surprisingly substantial (not heavyweight by any means, but isn’t see-through even in a lighter color like the “Oatmeal” pictured above). The style is somewhat slim-fitting, but the fit is true to size; though, because the style is a little cropped, those who are tall may need to size up for extra length.

———– Zara Buttoned Tweed Coat ———–

One of the five new coats that I picked up this winter, this Balmain knock-off (I also own it in the all-black colorway) is getting so much wear that I am actually contemplating getting the real deal. Dress it down with denim or wear to work with a sheath dress.

(And yes, I realize it looks a lot like the A+O Andreas Tweed Coat that I used to own but have since been commandeered by my mom.)

— Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Mask —

My hair has been (somewhat inexplicably) a lot frizzier and brittler this winter, so I’ve been using the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Mask once a week (I normally only use it twice a month or so), and it really helps to hydrate and soften dry hair. If you use it as a deep conditioner (leave in for 30 minutes), it can also extend the number of days between washes.

———- J. Crew Everyday Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater ———-

I buy one or two of these sweaters every year, so have a formidable arsenal of them now. They are warm but not bulky, so are perfect for wearing with pretty dress coats that are maybe not the warmest. They also tuck easily into dress pants or pencil skirts.

———- Free People Kate Faux Fur Coat ———-

I got the Free People Kate Faux Fur Coat (reviewed here) in ivory this winter and couldn’t be more pleased with the purchase. It is so cozy (what I imagine wearing a teddy bear is like) and makes every outfit luxe.
