Romance was in the air at the Spring 2020 London Fashion Week: there was no shortage of billowy sleeves, pastel tones, and frothy tulles on the runway.
Ever so impressionable, I, after a years-long preoccupation with the utilitarian, recently started adding more romantic touches to my outfits. One piece that I have been loving is this reasonably priced WAYF Mabel Mock Neck Top ($89; comes in the “ivory lace” shown, and also in “black lace“), even though it’s proving difficult to style: the bodice has a straight, boxy cut, so doesn’t tuck easily or gracefully; and when un-tucked, the length is a touch too long on someone my height. As there are a number of fit issues to contend with, I can’t recommend this top with full enthusiasm to fellow petites. If you are on the taller end of the height spectrum, however, I’d recommend giving this top a try.

In sale news, the Amanda Uprichard Wrap Front Trousers seen above is now on sale at Shopbop and sizes are still complete in two colorways. I own this in both colors and like that it’s a more delicate take on the wide leg crop pant, without compromising an ounce of convenience. The crepe-like material (100% polyester) needs a thorough steam before first wear, but is not noticeably wrinkle-prone. Sizes run P to XL, and fits slightly small to size (not a full size), so I’d recommend sizing up if you are in between sizes.
