Thank you Ann Taylor for partnering on this post!

After spending the better part of a week in sunny South Carolina where spring arrived weeks ago, I returned to a Northeast very much still in the grip of winter. Having gotten a taste of warm weather, all I want to wear now are punchy florals and spring colors.
Today I am partnering with Ann Taylor to share my favorite pieces from their new arrivals section, all styles that I feel extremely passionate about because the collection’s featured color happens to be my favorite color, a fresh forest green that is exceptionally cheerful.
The first item I want to highlight is the Floral Border Sleeveless Dress featured in this post. It’s an effortless piece that can be worn without much styling: add a pair of demure pumps to dress it up for special occasions, or throw on a pair of fresh sneakers and a denim jacket to transform it for weekend wear. Between the floaty material and whimsical print, it’s just such a fun piece to wear.

Ann Taylor’s latest collection puts a fun twist on classic silhouettes and wardrobe staples, like the timeless Pleated Skirt done in a bright green that can liven up any outfit. I can see it worn easily with the Stripe Tie Neck Shell, which itself has enough fun details to wear simply with neutral bottoms.
♥ Flutter Sleeve Wrap Jumpsuit I like everything about this jumpsuit: the faux wrap top that doesn’t gape, the high-waisted placement of the tie belt, the fun flutter sleeves, and the on-seam pockets. The style fits true to size, but those who are long-torsoed may need to order from a different size type as the style has a higher waist line.
♥ Bi-Stretch Short Trench Coat A “wear with everything” piece that has the power to instantly update a wardrobe for spring. The medium-weight material is stretchy but holds shape and is warm enough for early spring. In transitional weather, I plan to wear this simply with a thin sweater and dark wash jeans. I opted for this jacket in a “regular” size for the extra length as I can see this pairing well with shorts or a shorter skirt in warmer weather.

♥ Mixed Eyelet Flare Dress The workmanship and material justify the price, but the details are what sold me: The flared silhouette and defined waistband accentuate the waistline, and the mixed patterns add visual interest while the single color palette keeps the style classic. My local store sold out nearly all the petite sizes, so I ordered it online.
♥ Flutter Sleeve Wrap Flare Dress Another piece that sold out of many sizes quickly at my local store. The Wild Strawberry is eye-catching but not so bright as to render the dress inappropriate for most work places. An “all occasions” dress that can take you from work to a friend’s wedding to family brunch. I bought this in my “normal size” and find the fit true to size.
♥ Tweed Fringe Zip Jacket When dealing with statement pieces that are either vivid in color or pattern, I like to temper the look with a textured neutral piece that counterbalances the brighter elements of an outfit. This tweed jacket is that neutralizing agent. Fits slightly small to size and is cropped in length so size up if you are busty.
Happy shopping!
