J. Crew’s Tie-Neck Dress in Italian Wool was one of my favorite purchases last fall, and while I was happy to see the design brought back earlier this year in a “365 crepe” in three colorways, I was disappointed by the polyester blend, which cheapens an otherwise classic design. I kept this dress because I missed the return window, and it’s certainly wearable, but I would’ve happily paid more for a true wool crepe.

Fit-wise, I found that it runs half a size small in the bodice, though online reviews seem to suggest that it’s more true to size. If you are about my size, the dress in size 00p measures 12″ at the waist, 15″ from underarm to underarm, and 35.75″ in length.

And J. Crew is currently running an attractive sale: 40% off any purchase with code BIGSALE, including sale styles–Standard shipping is $5 or free for J. Crew Rewards members (membership is free).

While there are some exclusions (the Harper Satchel also featured here is excluded from the current promotion), this sale covers 90%+ of the current collection and is sweetened by some newly discounted styles.

J. Crew Wrap-Tie Jumpsuit in Stretch Poplin (I own this in “warm caramel” and while the material is very wrinkle-prone, it is an effortless warm-weather option)

J. Crew Belted Shirtdress (from this post; now on further sale)

J. Crew Daphne Topcoat in Italian Boiled Wool (material is lackluster, but the price is reasonable)
