The first Friday of June (or National Doughnut Day) is one of my favorite days of the year, because of all the free donuts on offer that day. National donut purveyors like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts will be giving out free donuts on Friday (KK has no requirements for a free donut, while DD requires a beverage purchase). And Papa John’s will debut a new menu item, donut holes, on Friday, and will give out a free order with any online purchase that day.
And on to shopping news, which is predictably light after a retail event like MDW.
While I was measured in shopping the Burberry sale, I did accidentally find something (sadly not on sale) which I loved and ordered immediately: the Burberry Kensington Long Cotton-Gabardine Trench Coat; I liked it so much I bought it in two colors (“gray” and “honey“). I did manage to clear the haze long enough to order them from Net-a-Porter–because of the VAT refunds and Burberry’s (relatively) lower retail prices in the U.K.–so the damage was less than it might have been otherwise.
