A bright white suit may seem unseasonable for an early March punctuated by winter storms, but I have decided that I am going to will spring to come by dressing for the season in which I want to live.
And I’ve always loved tonal pantsuits, perhaps even more after Hillary brought it back into the limelight during her presidential run. For some, pantsuits may feel stifling, but I find them incredibly versatile and easy to imbue with personality.
Plus, I like to live dangerously, because what is more dangerous than wearing white and eating saucy food/using condiments liberally. I often feel that I wade through life with a high degree of carelessness (making me more accident prone than the average bear), and wearing high-maintenance clothes forces me to focus on my surroundings, instead of letting my mind drift away from the present.

A few words on this outfit:
Because of how sheer the Scallop Trim Shell is, I probably won’t be wearing it on its own, but I do love how it pairs perfectly with a fitted blazer, showing off both the covered buttons and the scallop details in the front. I can’t wait to wear it with this Ruffle Tweed Jacket.
These Wide Leg Marina Pants fit true to size, but I went up two sizes for extra wide pant legs, and then had a tailor take in the waist ~2 inches. I had hoped that the 92% cotton/8% elastane material would be wrinkle-proof, but after sitting for a few hours, numerous creases start to form in the front (likely made worse by the excess fabric which resulted from my ordering two sizes larger).
The Palermo Blazer has been brought back to Shopbop this season in three colors–white, navy, and black. This 100% polyester blazer is stretchy and flattering, but will likely start to look worn after a few washes. Sadly, most sizes have already sold out in this style. Here are a few more options for a double breasted white blazer:
My loafer collection is growing in number, but it’s hard to find a perfect fit in this style of shoe given their mostly flat soles. I had to order the Audriana Leather Loafers half a size larger, but they are made incredibly comfortable after I added back-of-heel cushions.
