Snow fell for the first time this season over the weekend, and I was as entranced by its magic as children in Texas who saw snow for the first time in their lives. But as survivors of snowy winters know, it’s all downhill from here, but I will be prepared for it, with my multitude of heavy-duty coats and waterproof boots.
The Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater Dress pictured in this post is a recent purchase that I can recommend wholeheartedly. It’s warm for how lightweight the material is (it’s a wool/acrylic/nylon mix, but is not itchy), and I love the interest that the row of side buttons adds (you can see the buttons better in this post). And I know others share my viewpoint, because the dress is already sold out in most sizes at full-price online.
I found the length in regular more versatile for my purpose, but if you want a closer fit and shorter length, you might consider trying one of the petite sizes, as there is no well-defined waistline on this style. In my opinion, this dress fits half a size small, so if you are curvy, consider ordering a size larger.
If you are interested in this dress, J. Crew is currently running a store-wide sale on full-prices styles: use code HOLIDAYFUN to take 30% off orders under $200, or 40% off on orders over $200.
More picks: Resumé Dress (reviewed here), Parke Blazer, Off-the-Shoulder Sweater Dress, Parke Topcoat, Boyfriend Shirt in Stewart Plaid, Lace Top with Built-In Cami, Striped Turtleneck Sweater-Dress, and Lady Coat with Fringe Trim.
In other sale news, the current Kate Spade “Surprise Sale” will end in 3 days, and new styles were added last Friday. I ordered two Skinny Mini Long Double Row Pearl Necklaces (additional photos on NM) as gifts for girlfriends.
