Mustard

There are few things I enjoy wearing in the summer more than brightly colored one-pieces. This Everly Surplice Romper–with its cheerful color, lively dots, and flutter sleeves–caught my eye immediately, but the execution lacks finesse. Unless you are flat-chested, the surplice front will gape with movement. I learned, after flashing dozens of people in my first wear of this romper, to faithfully apply fashion tape between the front panels with every wear.

The romper seemed to have sold out overnight after being discounted ~40% on the Nordstrom website, but if you are interested, you may want to bookmark the page to check for popbacks. Everly is considered a “juniors” brand so tends to fit narrow and short: the length will be especially challenging for anyone taller than me (5’2).

And while rompers are one of the least practical articles of clothing out there, I can’t get enough of them. If you can make peace with having to disrobe fully to use the restroom, here are some others that have caught my eye: Endless Rose Ruffled Sleeve Romper (ordered!), Privacy Please Goodwin Romper, Cooper & Ella Esme Romper, J.O.A. Frill Bottom Detail Lace Romper, Willow & Clay Floral Print Romper, Alexis Bar Lace Ruffle Side Cutout Romper, and Raga Santa Marta Romper.
