Suede Moto Jacket

Uniform dressing is in vogue, and for good reason. The basic premise is this: identify a flattering look, buy multiples of workhorse pieces, and wear the same look every day with minor tweaks. Depending on your trend tolerance, you could update your look seasonally (or never). For those looking to eliminate a major inconvenience from their morning routines, uniform dressing is the answer.

The concept isn’t new, but only in recent years did a mainstream audience co-opt the movement for personal use. When done right, uniform dressing can become a signature and part of personal branding (see: Steve Jobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, and Marc Zuckerberg).

If I were less of a neophile, I could see this outfit—moto jacket, drapey top, skinny jeans, and sneakers—being my uniform; it suits my need to caper about well.
