I generally prefer mixing textures to mixing patterns, as the former adds visual interest in a subtler way (I really like outfits that make me wonder: “why does this work?”); but if I want to wear more than one print at once, pairing stripes with floral is a reliable combination.
For how large my wardrobe is, this skirt gets worn with surprising frequency. But I didn’t realize, until I was drafting this post, that this is the first time it’s been featured in an outfit post. I hope all of you floral-lovers picked one up when I blogged about it earlier this year.
Here are a few other floral pencil skirts that look promising:

J. Crew Schoolboy Blazer (current season here; size 00) | Ann Taylor Pearlized Crystal Statement Necklace | Banana Republic Engineered Stripe Tee (past season; similar here) | Michael Kors Runway Watch | Ann Taylor Hibiscus Pencil Skirt (past season; size 00P) | Prada Saffiano Lux Large Double-Zip Executive Tote (also sold here and here) | Zara Court Shoes (past season; also love these) |
And don’t forget to shop the Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus gift card events. For once most things aren’t on pre-order.
