For those in the market for a designer bag, be it the Prada Saffiano Lux Large Double-Zip Tote, the Saint Laurent Saint Laurent Monogram Large Grained Chain Bag, or the Chloé Marcie Medium Round Crossbody Bag, the Saks gift card event is one of my favorite occasions to make designer purchases.
While the list of designer exclusions is long, the system has always been glitch-y and doesn’t exclude most of the styles from eliminated brands from qualifying for a gift card. You can earn up to $700 (on an order of $3000) in gift cards.
Back in March I ordered the Givenchy Medium Antigona Leather Satchel for my mom during one of these gift card events, and still consider this one of the best times during which to make large purchases. (You likely won’t find comparable perks unless you travel abroad to take advantage of VAT refunds.) I wish I had purchased my Saint Laurent Classic Leather Small Sac De Jour Bag (review in the works) at Saks instead of during Neiman Marcus’ gift card event (which is great for certain combinations of purchases, but less ideal for a purchase over 2k).
For bow lovers who like to travel light, the Prada Saffiano Lux Bow Crossbody Bag that I own is available in two colors. I also love this updated version with chain straps (also in two colors).

A purchase from earlier this year that I hope to wear more frequently this fall is the Prada Saffiano Promenade Bag, also included in this sale.
If you are $100-$250 from meeting the next tier for gift cards, add something from the beauty department; it’s worth the extra gift card awarded.
An aside: Neiman Marcus is running a comparable sale but the gift card cap is lower. A great alternative if the item you are looking to order is less than $1000.
