Summer Prints (+ Sundresses for July 4th BBQs)

Summer picnics are among my favorite warm weather activities—I enjoy spontaneous ones where I grab a book, a blanket, and bags of Haribo gummy candies, stuff everything into a backpack, and bike to a nearby lake to spend the day; I also like elaborate ones that require some amount of planning and prep beforehand.

But what are picnics without sundresses and rompers in fun prints! I’ve partnered up with ModCloth to share one of my favorite sundresses (there were many contenders, each of them unique) from its private label.

The feminine back bow, in-seam pockets, and vibrant floral print were what drew me to the Sunbaked Satisfaction Dress. The dress (which fits true to size for ModCloth) in size small fits me well, though I shortened the strap in the back by ~two inches to raise the neckline.

This dress would be perfect for a fourth of July barbecue or picnic. I plan to order the Buzz, Of Course Sun Hat, a perfect companion piece, to wear with it.

Here are a few other sundresses that I love and think would be great for July 4th festivities: Up, Up, and Amaze Dress in Swallows, Zesty Attire Required Dress, Just One of Those Flings Dress, The Blogger the Better Dress, Patio My Goodness! Dress in Garden, , Biographical Book Club Dress in Poppies, It’s Going to Be Bouquet Dress in Sunflowers, Flare Maiden Dress in Melons, and Girl Meets Twirl Dress in Seahorses.

For those interested, here are links to the recipes of items in/around my picnic basket: Strawberry Lemonade, Peach Ice Tea, Nutella Chocolate Truffles, Nutella Stuffed Cinnamon Sugar Muffins, Bacon Cheddar Chicken Salad, and Macadamia Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies with Coconut.
