A work staple, J. Crew’s Long-sleeve Multicolored Tweed Dress with Fringe in Navy Multi Tweed, is currently on sale for $50 (an exceptional value, imo); sizes are complete in regular but limited in petite.
I went up two sizes for a roomier fit, but the dress fits about a full size smaller in the torso than comparable J. Crew styles (confirmed by friends who also own it and by reviews online).

The exposed back zipper is sturdy, but the slider is prone to catching material on the other side.
Irregular fit and awkward zipper aside, this dress is difficult to nitpick. The fabric is beautiful and perfect for early spring (or a heavily air-conditioned office, like mine). Even my mom, who can be hard to shop for, asked me to order her one. Have I mentioned that the dress has pockets?
