I am fascinated by tartan, in part because I think I would’ve enjoyed belonging to a Scottish clan and Braveheart and its many historical inaccuracies made me think I would make an excellent clansman.
Daydreaming aside, the mainstream appropriation of buffalo check (sorry, lumberjacks) has resulted in the print showing up in some pretty interesting places, from the expected (tote, skirt, throw), to the less expected (magic wallet, phone case, chair), to the unexpected (pet blanket, catchall), and to the least expected (tree skirt, bottle holder).
