To hem or not to hem, that’s the question tormenting me these days.
At 5’2, I am used to buying clothes of awkward lengths that require some adjustments and have even hatched no-sew methods to manipulate the length of garments. This skirt, however, is tougher to mold than others so it’s sat in my “alter…maybe” pile for months now.
The length at present is not wholly unflattering but isn’t as versatile as it could be. But all alterations are inherently risky and this skirt, with its many pleats and folds, faces numerous latent hazards.
How do you decide what to alter? Is there a set formula?
