Filigree Cardigan

On the rare occasion that I’d have sufficient time to scrutinize an outfit, the question I pose to myself is this: What is the perceived gap between the present outfit and the potential outfit?

Take this outfit as an example, before adding a wider, waist-cinching belt, the cardigan tucked awkwardly into the skirt and the zipper shifted in misalignment with every movement I made but I couldn’t immediately pinpoint what it was missing. Luckily, the belt fixed more than the alignment problem, it also pulled the two pieces together without cluttering the outfit.

Zipia Filigree Cardigan (last worn here) | Zara Coat with Gathered Shoulder and Metallic Button | H&M Bow Belt | J. Crew Cashmere-lined Leather Gloves | YSL Wool Skirt | Prada Saffiano Lux Double-Zip Tote | Lauren Ralph Lauren Bryce Boots

I know I promised a detailed review of my Zipia experience some time ago but
I still haven’t had adequate time to put together a post. As I’ve noted in the
past, my overall experience was positive but I do feel that
shipping is expensive (but expeditious) and the order minimum somewhat
out-of-reach.

I’d be happy to expound on my experience
if you have more specific questions; just leave a
comment below or e-mail me directly.

And I’ll end this post on a high note with a few great sales:

Piperlime is running an extra 50% off sale on sale items until 1/18; use code NEED at checkout. This discount renders all sales final. My picks: Schutz Slate Booties, Sabine Rosalie Lace Dress, Tinley Road Vegan Leather Moto Jacket, Tinley Road Ashley Jumper, Sloosh Italy Opaque Boots, Sam Edelman Loren Boot, Sloosh Italy Classic Boots, Michael Kors Flex Kitten Pump, and Nanette Lepore Wildcat Skirt.

Ann Taylor is running a 50% off everything sale (use code WINTER50 at checkout) through Sunday night. I liked the Exotic Embossed Leather Hinge Belt, Silk Blouse, Bejeweled Ann Cardigan, and Pearlized Pear Stone Statement Necklace.

And J. Crew‘s extra 40% off final sale is still ongoing, use code FUNSALE for the discount at checkout. I have been wearing the Convertible Toggle Coat and Schoolboy Blazer in Pack Green with frequency and thoroughly enjoy both. A few great styles have been restocked in all sizes, including the Peter Pan Collar Dress, Mini-bows Sweatshirt, Wool-silk Cropped Pant, Buffalo Check Peacoat, and Pepper Tweed Dress.

For Gap Inc. cardholders, take 40% off your Banana Republic purchase with code BRCARD. I think the Faux-Wrap Dress, Bronze Floral Jacquard Full Skirt, Sloan Pencil Skirt (10 colors!), Sleeveless Buttoned Blouse, and Black Double-Breasted Coat are interesting.

And I received these Statement-Making Jaguar Flats from Forever 21 the other day and find that they are, as reviewed, not particularly comfortable (which isn’t to say they are uncomfortable). For under $10, they are pretty good quality and are rather unique. I found that they ran half a size big but think sizing is consistent so would tread carefully if I were you. You can take 50% off all sale items with code EXTRA50.

Happy shopping!
