Wearing colorful rain gear is my coping mechanism for dealing with nonstop rain. There’s something adventurous about navigating puddles of muddy water in bright yellow rainboots.

One design that Hunter phased out last winter is the Watling–military-inspired and with laces. I bought mine in Marigold on sale from Gilt for less than $40 and couldn’t be happier with them.
Hunter’s recent designs focus more on functional tweaks rather than novelty ones: there’s the useful packable iteration, the adjustable-back version, and the Rag & Bone collaboration with side zippers.
And a note about J. Crew’s latest sale:
J. Crew cardholders get an extra 40% off sale items with code CARDMEMBER. Non-cardholders can take 30% off sale items with code LOVEFALL. Select items are an additional 50% off with code LOVEFALL. The No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Maple Tweed and the matching jacket that I love are both sold out in my size so I decided to sideline myself for this sale. Will be saving my money for the Schoolboy Blazer in Pack Green.
