Alas, fall is in the air. I woke up at 3AM this morning in fetal position and proceeded to drag out from storage the heaviest blanket I could find whose warm embrace finally put me back to sleep. I am not ready for summer’s departure so you might see me busy chasing summer’s tail in the coming days.
Enough rambling. Current discounts pale in comparison with Labor Day sales but almost all retailers received new styles this week which made for really fun window-shopping.
Retailer: J. Crew
Discount: 25% off shoes, boots, and bags with code EXTRAS.
J. Crew’s September New Arrival has a bit too much camouflage (exhibits A, B, C, and D) and is in some aspects too utilitarian for my taste. The only thing that caught my eye is the Schoolboy Blazer in Beaded Tweed.
In contrast, Crewcuts’ fall collection is significantly more interesting. Aside from the Peter Pan Collar Dress, I also think the Dotted Peplum Jacket and Necklace Sweatshirt look promising in pictures.
Retailer: Ann Taylor
Discount: 25% off full-price styles, no code needed.
Picks: Maven Leopard Jacquard Ankle Pants, Lane Striped Shirt, Zig Zag Pencil Skirt, Houndstooth Tweed Jacket, Society Paisley Statement Necklace, and Chevron Sweater.
Retailer: Banana Republic
Discount: Take 35% off (cardholders) or 30% off your order with code BRSTYLE.
Picks: Heritage Field Jacket, Striped Silk Blouse, Gemma Windowpane Wrap Dress, and Sloan Sheath.
Retailer: Forever 21
Picks: City-Chic D’Orsay Pumps, Classic Oversized Faux Leather Clutch, Cool Girl Cropped Pullover, and Tiered High-Low Skirt.
Retailer: the Limited
Discount: B1G1 Free Pants and Jeans, $12 and up style spectaculars, and B1G1 Free Jewelry.
Picks: I am eying two dresses in this month’s rollout: Lace Bodice Sheath Dress (an amalgamation of these Oscar de la Renta styles?) and Belted Flounce Dress.
Discount: Up to 70% off
Picks: I tried a few sale styles last month but none of them really appealed to me. There’s usually a reason for why certain styles get so heavily discounted. Take this blue top for example, it was just way too low cut for someone short (or those with a short torso).
