3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Collection

The 3.1 Phillip Lim and Target collaboration marries classic-with-an-edge style with affordability and ready availability. The quintessentially “cool” label’s first high-low effort will drop on September 15 and features a neutral color palette heavy on traditionally fall colors.

I normally prefer 3.1 Phillip Lim’s spring collections as design nuances sometimes get lost in darker shades but think the collaboration eschewed fabrics and concepts that translate poorly to fall colors.

Prices will run $19.99 to $299.99, with much of the collection near the lower end of that range.

Target’s last few collaborations skewed special occasions (or casual) so I am happy to see a collection that caters more to working women.

The Leather Jacket in Navy tops my wishlist even though my jaw dropped slightly when I saw “$249.99” next to its name. There’s always an off chance that it’ll end up in the 75% off section but I am not optimistic.

This capsule collection recycled elements from some past-season styles; the graphic sweatshirts remind me of Phillip Lim’s pre-fall 2012 collection.

On the bag front, there is a Pashli lookalike for $54.99 (available in black) that could be a budget-friendly alternative to the fan favorite.

Will you be shopping the collection?
