Those of you who have been with this blog for some time will know that I have several weaknesses, chief among them are dresses and tops with pleated cap sleeves.
The appeal, for me, of dresses-with-sleeves is that you can wear them without an exterior layer, which immediately doubles their use (for someone who rarely wears sleeveless anything on their own to work).
And dresses with cap sleeves are even more versatile in my eyes because they can be worn to work, to dinner, and with the change of a belt and the addition of sparkly jewelry, to dressier occasions.
|Tory Burch Heather Belted Sheath Dress (also here) | Pearl Necklace with Bow Clasp via eBay | Marc by Marc Jacobs Rose Gold Watch | MICHAEL by Michael Kors Selma Large Satchel (buy here + here) | J. Crew Mona Patent Mary Janes|Sizes are still aplenty online. This dress is on sale for $158 (originally $395) at Saks and comes in two colors (navy or strawberry; both pictured below). Nordstrom has had this dress in navy for $159.97 (sadly sizes are sold out again). This style is also sold out online at Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s but popbacks are common.
The dress is made from a cotton/polyester/spandex ponte with significant stretch and is sold with a removable and adjustable tonal leather belt.
There is no lining but the material is thick enough to conceal any unevenness below.
Sizes run XS-L; the XS measures 12.5″ at the waist, 17″ at the hip, 15.5″ across the bust, and 35.75″ in length. The length may be most appropriate on someone who is 5’5.

I plan to get the dress hemmed an inch or so because just-below-the knee length and a slightly flared bottom look sloppy together.
A few more options to consider:

Also, is anyone interested in the Black Halo Jackie O Belted Dress? It will be going to a tailor next week to be hemmed two inches. If anyone is interested in the pre-alterations fit, let me know and I will photograph it for a post.
