Some of you may remember my review of the Michael by Michael Kors Selma Satchel from April; it had ended on a tentative note: the bag was a pass, for now.
I thought it would be fall before I’d have to confront this dilemma but Selma’s popularity galvanized the Michael Kors’s team to rush into production the bag in sold-out colors. Earlier this month, a fresh-off-the-factory-floor navy Selma arrived on my doorstep, complete with a scent redolent of drying dye (a smell that quickly faded once the bag had been sufficiently aired out).
Even now, having viewed Michael Kors’s pre-fall collection, I remain as committed to my choice in navy as ever. Neither bright dahlia nor gray-and-black colorblock can crack my resolve.

I plan to write another post about Selma after I become better acquainted
with her. A month should be enough time to rid myself of
honeymoon goggles and put in plain view design or structural flaws not
immediately obvious to me at this time.
For those of you who
own this bag or have seen it in person, please discuss freely in the
comments any thoughts as they come to you.
Interesting colors in which the Selma has been recently made available include lipstick red, soft taupe, bright dahlia, peacock blue, cobalt blue and black colorblock, and crocodile embossed.
I hope the MK team comes out with the Selma in an emerald green for fall; I would unhesitatingly throw my “no dupes” rule out the nearest fenestration for it.
