Friend S and I have chatted incessantly about this skirt since April when we both succumbed to stripe fever. Reviews were unequivocally positive and the words “very haute couture” were music to my ears (I am a simpleton).
Because of its exceptional popularity, the style sold out in days and was backordered until June. Never one to let delayed gratification influence my decision process, I logged in and checked out.
I had almost forgotten about the skirt when S mentioned casually late last month that her order had shipped. At first, I thought “what striped skirt?” A telltale sign of someone who shops too much. Once I processed that information, my confusion blossomed into anticipation.

The skirt is not
perfect — the heavy textured fabric hangs in a bell-like shape instead
of retaining the intended A-line effect that is more universally
flattering. I also prefer a dark navy to black. As I have been making
every effort to only keep items that match my checklists to a tee, I
feel I compromised on this skirt.
I mean,
compromise is not always a sign of weakness. In this instance, the
likable traits of the skirt simply outweighed the not-so-likable ones.
Or, I am just talking myself into a trance to avoid admitting to letting
my heart triumph over my checklist.
As you will soon see, I went a *little* crazy with this skirt because Girls from Savoy (actually, Anthropologie as a whole) is a brand that I am entirely unfamiliar with. I initially ordered both sizes in regular but when petite sizes were made available I quickly got on board as well.
The difference between sizes is actually negligible. In fact, the petite M/L and regular XS/S are nearly identical in measurement. I ended up keeping the regular XS/S because I got it on sale for slightly less than its petite counterpart.
I’ll let comparison pictures below do most of the talking. I do want to note that the barbie pink zipper is kind of an eyesore and even more nagging in person but I turned a blind eye to that detail.

A great stripe skirt/dress is a must – no ifs, ands, or buts. I adore Kelly’s Rachel Zoe little number, Jean’s amazing DIY creation, Cee’s ultra versatile maxi, SPG’s professional-grade frock, and PhiPhi’s Kate Spade stunner.
Are you on board the stripe-train?
