J. Crew Sterling Skirt in Double-Serge Wool Review

Most skirts I own serve rather singular purposes – formal or casual. I haven’t come across many skirts designed for both leisure and business wear, which is why I was especially impressed by how well the J. Crew Sterling Skirt in Double-Serge Wool embodies this duality. The slight flare at the bottom gives the skirt a flirtatious a-line shape but the length and elementary design keep it conservative.

The skirt in 00P measures 20 inches in
total length and slightly more than 12 inches across the waist

The Sterling Skirt reminds me in many aspect of the Flair Skirt from last fall. The shape is similar and the fit nearly identical. But the Sterling Skirt is about an inch longer than the Flair Skirt and has two pockets in place of a row of front buttons. For those of you who were fans of the Flair Skirt, you might be pleasantly surprised by the Sterling Skirt.

The waist is slightly smaller than the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-serge Wool (which reportedly has erratic sizing this year) in Heathered Acorn. If you are in between sizes at J. Crew, size up in this style for comfort.
