Ping, one of my favorite style bloggers and a dear friend, and I were chatting one random afternoon in July. At the time, she was doing a closet-cleaning and she thoughtfully asked if there were things in her closet that I would be interested in. Almost without hesitation, I asked if she had considered parting with her Free People lace top (in retrospect, my lack of hesitation probably reflects poorly on me). She generously declined payment for the top and I became the happy recipient of this gorgeous (and versatile) lace top, an item you can expect to see a lot of in the future.
I took these pictures a few weeks ago when it was still warm enough to walk around without a coat. I am often jealous of people who live in perpetually warm and dry places. I spent the first ten-ish years of my life in a tropical region before being uprooted and stationed in an area with biting winters where I’ve lived ever since. I always wondered if people ever move to cold places by choice (not because of career aspirations, family commitments, and other entanglements). For those of you who live in generally warm places, do you miss the drastic changing of the seasons or is that just a story some miserable Eskimo (I mean this word in the least derogatory way…) made up to pacify his disgruntled kids?
