Amber at Easy Petite Looks is the host of this month’s (ever so popular) Petite Fashion Challenge and the participants were asked to create a date night outfit (could be a girls’ night out or a night with your current or prospective romantic date).
Date night, during which we get out of the house and stay out until all hours of the night, is a distant memory. J and I like the comfort of home, cheesy movies, and really bad Chinese takeout. On the odd occasion we do something special, I normally put on my finest dress, the tallest heels, and dig out bags that I store away for safekeeping.
I procrastinated again and didn’t have a chance to take pictures of the outfit that I would’ve liked to wear for this challenge. So what you have here is a work outfit that I thought was a little dressier than usual (I removed my blazer for pictures).
I can’t wait to read what other people have come up with. Please visit Amber’s blog to read the other entries.

Charlotte Russe top, Ann Taylor belt, LOFT necklace, Forever 21 bracelet, ASOS skirt, Prada bag and YSL shoes (similar from F21) |
Additionally, I want to say something about these ASOS Peplum Skirts that I reviewed a while back. I had ordered three colors to try and decided to keep only the black. I remain a fan of the skirt but found more than a few qualities that I didn’t notice at first. Specifically the fact that the skirt doesn’t have a vent in the back which made taking bigger steps and climbing the stairs somewhat difficult. Additionally, I found that the skirt can get somewhat wrinkly after sitting all day and that the other colors don’t disguise the wrinkles as well as the black does.
