Twitter is a platform on which shopping in moderation goes to die. Nevermind the endless sale alerts (a few of which I am to blame), even tweets unintended for you can sometimes lead you to make a purchase. Last month Petite Little Girl tweeted a link of this Tobi dress to Extra Petite and a few keywords automatically jumped out at me (namely mint and peplum, two trends I can’t get enough of). I haven’t been to the Tobi website in months and was surprised to find that they are now selling mostly trendy (but higher quality) F21 type clothes instead of the young designer brands they used to carry.

I quickly put an order – comprised of three dresses and one top – together. I received my order a week later (the order was shipped the day after I placed my order but since their warehouse is located on the West Coast it spent a week in transit) and was pleasantly surprised by the products in real life. I ended up keeping one dress (mint peplum dress worn here) and one top and returned two dresses.

(shipping is free on orders of $150 and more otherwise it’s a flat rate of $6.95 per order. If you make a return using the prepaid shipping label included with your package $5 will be deducted from your refund. I am still waiting for my refund to process, will update this post with that information).

Crewcuts top, Tobi dress, H&M belt, Kate Spade sunglasses, Corso Como pumps (also here and here), and Marc Jacobs bag

Most clothing items, regardless of type, are available in three sizes: S, M, and L. All four items I ordered are size S. The three dresses were all constructed from lightweight and stretchy material and each letter size can probably accommodate a few numerical sizes.

I.Ner Dress – sz S (bust: 13 inches; waist: 10.5 inches; length: 35 inches; hip: free)

I thought the pleated dress with crochet sleeve detail was cute and fit moderately well. I didn’t keep it because I have too many similar items in my closet.

Everly Lace Peplum Dress – sz S – (bust: 15.5 inches; waist: 11 inches; hip: 17.5 inches; length: 30 inches; torso length: 13.5 inches)

The lace peplum dress is so cute but didn’t fit me properly. I have a fairly long torso for someone my height and the waist on this dress hit me at an unflattering place.

Solemio Mint Peplum Dress – sz S – (bust: 13 inches; waist: 12 inches; hip: 13.5 inches; shoulder drop: 6.5 inches; length: 34.5 inches; torso length: 13.5 inches

The mint peplum dress fit me moderately well and while there is some excess fabric in the back I can see myself reaching for it enough times to warrant the purchase.

Have you ordered from Tobi before? What are your thoughts?
