Very few mall retailers do colors as well as J. Crew. Whenever I browse J. Crew’s online store my heart always skips a beat for the gorgeous palettes that their design team never fails to deliver.
I was, however, disappointed by this No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-serge Cotton. In the stock photo, the “light rose” appeared to be a peachy color that is very befitting of the name “light rose.” However, in person it is a neon pink. While neon is on trend and I love a good neon as much as the next girl, it just wasn’t what I had expected.
Additionally, I am also not a fan of the material as it seems wrinkle-prone and a bit too starched for a skirt (again, this is my personal preference). It is constructed from a rather thick cotton blend and Cher said it will likely soften with wear but alas it’s a return for me.
The cotton version did measure both shorter and slightly smaller than the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-serge wool so it might fit someone a size smaller than me.
Below is a chart of measurements given to me by the J. Crew Live Chat service. As always, I think it’s slightly off from my own measurements so this isn’t entirely accurate.
When I measured the skirt myself: the 00P measured 12.5in across the waist, 18.5 inches long, and about 17 inches in the hips.
This skirt was overall a giant “meh” for me but I guess that’s the pitfall of online shopping.
Have a terrific weekend everyone!
