I feel less guilty when I splurge on “work” clothes so that splinter accounts for a huge chunk of my clothing bill every month. My latest splurge are these neon colored pencil skirts from J. Crew.
I didn’t get a very good discount on them but expect to get quite a bit of wear out of them after my February Challenge concludes. The gold is a definite keeper but the other three I’ll have to dwell on some more.
Here’s why you should consider these skirts: they have a timeless silhouette, and the construction/material is fair for the price point (lined, and has sturdy back zippers).

The four skirts shown here are not perfect replicas of each other size-wise but the sizing discrepancy isn’t very pronounced so if one color fits chances are good that the others will too.
