Greed is a powerful vice.
Only a few short weeks ago, I came home from the Burberry boutique with my newly altered Mottram Trench vowing that it would be the only trench I’ll ever need when J, the bf, interjected “you’ll be after one in three weeks.” I am embarrassed to admit that he is right.
This trench from J. Crew Collection (J. Crew’s venture into a less mass produced line) went on sale a few weeks ago in stores but by the time I got word of the markdown small sizes can no longer be searched for in stores and the online inventory is incomplete.
What attracted me to it at first is the detachable tulle skirt. I mean, if you have been with me for a while, you would know that this blog ought to be called tulle & things for how much I love things with tulle. And my friends, tulle is what sold me.
The trench was available in regular lengths only and in size 00 through size 16. I would’ve preferred the 00 but the 0 was all I could find. Disregarding the slightly roomier fit, I love it. The color name is “Burnished Khaki” and I find it to be a fairly accurate description of the dark khaki color.
Are you a fan of trench coats that are longer than knee length? Does it overwhelm a petite figure, remind you too much of exhibitionists (aka trench coat flashers), or evoke other emotions?
