I blogged (and tweeted) about this J. Crew bubble necklace last week and was really eager to receive it until it actually arrived.
First, it took me several minutes to untangle the mess that came in the mail (the necklace was crammed into a J. Crew box fit for a bangle). Secondly, as soon as I put it on I forgot why I had become infatuated with it in the first place. Maybe it had to do with the outfit I was wearing that day while out shopping but the necklace hadn’t felt so awkwardly oversized then.
I thought about taking it back to the store and returning it but upon closer inspection of the receipt, it was (the dreaded) final sale. I am sure when pressured most store associates would allow a return but I didn’t want to push my luck.
Thankfully, the necklace can be adjusted. Seen below is the tightest setting on me and the first picture is the necklace on the loosest setting.
The color is gorgeous and the stones are fairly sturdy. The necklace is of a manageable weight so I don’t feel overwhelmed by the size. If I had to choose again I probably would’ve pick the turquoise over the red.
