* Update – while I was going through my camera I noticed that the boots pictured here are the “Mainline” boots and not the 50/50. The pictures of the 50/50 I have are completely off-centered and cut off so pictures will have to wait until I order them for myself. The two pairs do fit similarly in the calves*
I wasn’t going to blog about these boots until I’ve taken pictures of other new boots purchases but noticed that they are now 50% off at Nordstrom’s so in the interest of enabling, here are some pictures and a few words. (The Cadet Over the Knee Boots(Nordies) are also 50% off – and available in black leather – I tried on both styles and didn’t notice any significant difference). These 5050 Boots have numerous celebrity fans, I think I can understand why!
These Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots(Piperlime) (also sold here(Zappos), here(Bloomies), here(fn) and here(bloomies in suede); did I mention they are the boots of choice for many?) are my newest obsession. Sure, no one likes them on me but I do! The Black Nappa pictured here is not on sale (yet) but I am sure if I am willing to wait they will eventually get discounted! The elastic in the back makes them easy to put on (slightly harder to remove) and they are so comfortable to walk in.
I would recommend them for ladies with slim and normal calves. A friend with 12-in calves fit them too and here’s how they fit my 13-in calves with jeans. I suspect most of the wrinkling has to do with the fact that the jeans that I am wearing here are not tapered.
And, while we are at it, here’s a pair of Christian Louboutin boots that broke my heart. When I first got them a few weeks ago I was elated that they fit perfectly in the foot but bf insisted that I take some pictures and scrutinize them without bias. He was right, they look pretty awful on me (especially the front view).
They were on mega sale (65% off!!!) but the rational part of me knows that I will regret keeping them. They have been sent back.
And onto a completely different topic (already warned you that this is a mishmash post).
I am constantly in awe of the beauty that is nature. The other day, while bf was busy fueling up, I stepped out of the car and snapped a few pictures of the sunset. It’s so ominous but magnificent.
