I Can’t Get Enough of…Red Blazers (J. Crew Petite Schoolboy Blazer in Wool Flannel & Forever 21 Double Knit Blazer)

I thought I had quashed any lust left inside me for a red blazer with my ebay Ralph Lauren find but became infatuated with the idea of a shorter, more cropped fit blazer in a fall color. I took advantage of J. Crew’s 25% off store-wide sale and ordered the Schoolboy Blazer in Wool Flannel (here in navy and here in tweed) that I’ve been itching to try. At around the same time, I randomly stumbled upon this Double Knit Blazer from Forever 21 which is eerily similar to the H&M Woven Blazer that I have been searching for in navy.

The Forever 21 blazer (on left) is much more “rust” in real life while the J. Crew one (right) is more pinkish red.

Up first is the J. Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Maraschino Cherry, a vibrant red color that stole my heart when I first laid eyes on it. Unfortunately, I didn’t like how the 00P fit me buttoned up at the 25% off price. I may reorder if it goes on super sale in a few months but I can’t justify its imperfect fit right now. I do like the gold buttons and the sleeve length (which is on the verge of being too short).

Up next is the Double Knit Blazer from everyone’s favorite cheap thrill store. Like I mentioned earlier, the stock photo made it look almost identical to the popular H&M Woven Blazer that was released again this fall. I really like this blazer (even though the material is thin and not nearly as thick and sturdy as its H&M counterpart) and $29.80 is a fairly reasonable price to pay. I will probably switch out the buttons for something a little fancier.

The sleeves are too long but the size Small fits well otherwise. I also like that the leopard lining shows through when I roll up the sleeves.
