I spotted this Kate Spade Clemonce Stripe Skirt a few weeks ago and was surprised by how much I immediately wanted a beige and black striped item in my possession. However, at $325 the skirt was much more than what I was willing to pay. I had contended with myself to wait a few months and see if the skirt gets marked down.
Soon after, during my daily visit to Extra Petite, I spotted a doppelgänger from H&M that I was instantaneously drawn to. My only hesitation is that the skirt, while loose on Jean, was undeniably more akin to a bandage skirt style than Kate Spade’s A-line take on it.
I am wearing the size S in these pictures but plan on getting an extra in size M. I am hoping the extra room and length will lend the $5.95 version some of the understated elegance of its $325 counterpart.

The H&M version is also available with black/white stripes and a variety of solid colors. I saw a bunch of these skirts at my local H&M – but didn’t see any size XS.
This skirt is also available as a dress ($12.95?; I saw some in XS) and and also as a long sleeved top ($9.95?) I loved this similar (but probably pricier) striped sweater on Natalia Vodianova so there’s a chance I may return for the top as well. The Whistles Bold Stripe Top also looks remarkably like this sweater.
A similar navy/white striped version is offered at Forever 21 for $7.80 and a beige/black bodycon skirt with smaller stripes is being sold at Topshop. I personally like that the Kate Spade version is a looser fitting A-line skirt and not a bodycon/banded skirt like this Pleasure Doing Business one.
