The state of today’s economy weighs heavily on people’s minds. With 14 million+ unemployed in the U.S. and benefits for the unemployed expiring, we are in a precarious position.
My goal in doing the 30-for-30 challenge was to enjoy what’s in my closet and take a step back from rampant overspending. I’ve done a poor job of cutting back but plan on implementing the less-is-more mentality as a lifestyle motto and not just for the duration of the 30-day challenge. I am very thankful that I have a job and can afford to buy and consume without a cloud hanging over my head but what I have learned since I started reading blogs is that style is not at the mercy of buying binges, some of the most fashionable bloggers have a closet that they can list and account for (Cee and Elaine come to mind.)
What have you found to be the most effective way in only spending when it counts?

In unrelated news…I made oatmeal chocolate chip raisin macadamia nut cookies (from a mix, of course). It’s one of five things I am capable of making. Sad? Perhaps. But it taste good.
